API stands for American Petroleum Institute, the largest trade association for oil and gas industry world wide. API certification is valid world wide to qualify for jobs in a variety of industry verticals which includes petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, pharmaceutical manufacturing, cement, semiconductor, steel plants.
There are no prior academic requisites to become an API certified inspector, candidates with 10th standard, plus two, diploma or graduation can be a API certified inspector.
Gamma NDT Academy offers preparatory courses for the following API Certification Courses.
API certification is valid for 3 years, after which you have to renew the certification license for a small fee. There is no examination to renew the API certification, Gamma NDT Academy offers API certification renewal.
Price for API 510, 570 and API 653 is Rs. 25,000 each.
API 580 and 936 certification price is Rs. 20,000 each.

Authorized Pressure Vessel Inspector course covers the inspection, repair, alteration and re-rating actions for pressure vessels as well as the apparatus protecting these vessels. This inspection applies on all hydrocarbon unless specifically excluded and chemical process vessels that have been placed in service. API accredited pressure vessel inspectors have to have a broad knowledge base concerning maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration of pressure vessels.
Authorized Piping Inspector classes covers inspection, evaluation, repair, and alteration procedures for metallic and FRP piping systems and their related pressure relieving devices which are placed in service. API 570 course is a preparatory class for students who would like to attend API 570 certification examination. Through your effort and the study guide lines provided in this preparatory class, you will have enough knowledge to pass the certification examination.
Authorized Tank Inspector course covers steel storage tanks standards followed by the industries world wide and it teaches minimum requirements for maintaining the integrity of steel tanks as soon as they’ve been placed in service. API 653 course teaches inspection, repair, alteration, relocation and reconstruction of steel tanks. This standard is meant for businesses which maintain or have access to engineering and review technically trained and experienced in tank design, fabrication, repair, construction and inspection.
API 936 course is designed to educate the candidates on API STD 936 Refractory Installation Quality Control Guidelines. This course involves deep understanding of installation, inspection, testing and repairing of refractory linings.
API 580 is a risk based inspection certification in petrochemical industry. Candidates with API 510, 570 or 653 certification is automatically qualified to take API 580 certification exam. Eligibility of candidates without the above API certifications will be based on a combination of their level.
